I havne't read much of this book so far, but I am already feeling sympathy for the people that experienced this fatal event. So far the book has told about the characters and family. Elie, Moishe, Hilda, Bea, and the parents. Moishe was one of Elie's friends and also a Jew, not from the area. He started hearing things about the Nazi's coming for the Jews and began to warn the Wiesel family. The family didn't believe that such a thing could happen at this point. But then they started seeing the truth. Moishe was taken away....

In section 2 of my book, it described alot about the family and the neighboring Jews having to leave. The Wiesel family had other Jews staying at their house. Elie's father had a meeting with the government about what was going to happen to the Jews. The Jews in the area stayed up all night waiting for him to get out of the meeting, and to see what was going to happen. Once he came out, everyone was begging him for answers. He couldn't tell all of it, because he was threatened to get shot if he did, but he was aloud to tell them that they were going to get forced out of their homes.

The family is getting more scared, as they must move to live in a smaller ghetto with their uncle. It was frighting for Elie when being forced to pack because he didn't know where they were going or what was happening...He soon figured out....The only feeling they had was fright. They didn't know what would happen, and hoped that things would SOON get better...

2. Ration- A fixed amount of a commodity officially allowed to each person during a time of shortage, as in wartime

In section 5 of my book, things get tougher and tougher. The family's are now struggeling to survive. Physically, and emotionally. Food is a major issue, as well as neighboring people making fun of them for who they are, and what they must do to survive.

The summer was coming to an end. The camp was filled with tension. 10,000 men had to participate in a solemn service. Elie is getting less confident that God is helping him anymore. Everything seems to good to be true now.

Everyone is returning to work in the cold, as usual, and the days are getting tougher and tougher. Elie is injured, and goes to the infirmary to get checked out. Nobody is in a good condition at this point...they can only have hope to make things better

Now, Elie and his father are getting worse. They are starving, but none of the SS officers feel any sympathy. The cold is freezing them to death, they see people around them suffering more than them. Elie is forced to do things that would discust a human, and see things that would make a person faint, like seeing others tortured. At this point...hope seems too far away...

Elie and is his father are now at a new concentration camp. Elie's father is now dieing, and wants nothing but death. But Elie won't let that happen. His father is the only family he now has. Other's are making fun of Elie only because he's helping his father. People are telling Elie that it's better to take care of himself then his father, since his father is going to die soon anyways. Elie doesnt want to have to do that...but he might have to.

Elie has been helping his father survive. One night Elie went to sleep and woke up, and his father was not there. He surely knew that they must have taken him away to the crematorium to be cremated. Elie could not bear to think about it, but he knew that's what had happened. He knows that he must move on though for his own survival. Elie heard that the war was coming to an end, and things would possibly start changing. Elie is suprised what he had gone through, andhe hopes to make it out.

A possible thief was next door and heard them all up in the annex. Of course their all scared for life that someone is going to come for them.

Anne and Peter have now kissed, everyone is getting annoyed by eachother besides those two. Peter is getting upset with everyone, and the only person that talks to him is Anne. She tries giving him hope, but he doesn't know if it'll help. They all are getting under eacother's skin, and it doesn't feel worth it.

As Peter and Anne are talking, they can hear the Nazi's at the door screaming at them to get out. Everyone stands there, or hurrying to get there things. The Nazi's finally break in and take them all away. Meip, Mr. Frank, And Kraler survive the camps. Mr. Frank reads Anne's diary that Meip gave him, and he can't take it anymore.
